The court extended the arrest of the former head of the 1st Directorate of the Main Directorate of Communications of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Major General Alexander Ogloblin, for six months. This was reported to Izvestia on March 19 at the 235th garrison military court.
It is specified that the case of receiving a particularly large bribe will begin to be heard on the merits on March 31. The process will take place behind closed doors.
Ogloblin is accused of receiving a multimillion-dollar bribe in the execution of a state defense order. According to investigators, in the period from 2016 to 2021, the accused received a bribe of 10 million rubles from representatives of the Telta plant in exchange for patronage in the execution of a large state defense order for the supply of communications equipment for the needs of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
