The UK has lifted sanctions against Russian businessman Farhad Akhmedov.

On March 19, the United Kingdom lifted financial sanctions against Russian businessman Farhad Akhmedov. The corresponding statement was published on the website of the British government.

"The following position has been removed from the single (sanctioned. — Ed.) of the list: <....> Farhad Akhmedov," the document says

It is noted that the businessman is no longer subject to the decision to freeze assets, as well as sanctions related to treatment services.

The European Union (EU) excluded Akhmedov from the sanctions lists back in the fall of 2023. He later won a court case against the EU Council. Brussels was ordered to annul all regulations on restrictions on entrepreneurs introduced on April 8, 2022.

On March 14, Barron's magazine reported that the EU lifted sanctions against four Russians: Russian Sports Minister Mikhail Degtyarev, businessmen Vyacheslav Kantor and Vladimir Rashevsky, as well as the sister of businessman Alisher Usmanov.
