The doctor named the causes of exacerbation of chronic diseases in the spring

Many people associate spring with a period of exacerbation of chronic diseases. On March 21, Tatiana Bobrova, a general practitioner and expert at the Hemotest laboratory, told Izvestia about ways to support the body.
At this time, according to Bobrova, diseases of the gastrointestinal tract such as gastritis, cholecystitis, gastric and duodenal ulcers worsen. This is due to the cyclical nature of the diseases themselves, changes in the length of the day, diet, as well as internal factors, primarily vitamin and mineral deficiencies after winter.
In addition, it is in the spring that many people begin to actively lose weight by the summer, go on strict diets, which becomes additional stress for the stomach, the expert emphasized.
To maintain the body, the doctor advised eating small portions, avoiding starvation and overeating, limiting spicy, fatty, fried and smoked foods, alcoholic and carbonated drinks. She noted that it is recommended to include fresh vegetables and fruits, cereals, low-fat fish and meat in the diet. If symptoms of an exacerbation of the disease occur, you should immediately consult a gastroenterologist, she added.
Due to changes in the weather, changes in atmospheric pressure, and magnetic storms, cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension, arrhythmia, and angina can also worsen. Anyone who has problems with the heart and blood vessels should carefully monitor blood pressure, avoid overwork and stress if possible, get enough sleep and find time for walks in the fresh air, Bobrova noted. In case of deterioration, it is necessary to consult a cardiologist.
"In the spring, diseases of the musculoskeletal system often worsen - arthritis, osteoarthritis, osteochondrosis. This may be due to hypothermia (spring weather is deceptive), fluctuations in atmospheric pressure, and decreased physical activity in winter. Vitamin D deficiency also contributes, which is usually not enough in winter," the expert said.
To avoid exacerbation of symptoms, you should dress according to the weather, exercise regularly, if necessary, undergo a massage course and consult with a traumatologist or orthopedist, she added.
In addition, spring is a period of allergy due to the beginning of flowering plants. For example, rhinitis, conjunctivitis, and dermatitis may worsen in humans, and bronchial asthma may worsen. Typical symptoms include a runny nose, sneezing and itchy nose, watery eyes and redness, skin rash, cough and shortness of breath, the specialist recalled.
On March 13, Vera Serezhina, an expert doctor at the LabQuest medical company, told Izvestia about ways to deal with spring allergies. She recommended avoiding or minimizing contact with allergens as much as possible, and using sunglasses and a medical mask outdoors. She also advised wet cleaning as often as possible and not drying clothes on the balcony.
