The political scientist pointed to Russia's commitment to agreements with China

Russia will remain committed to the agreements with China, despite its relations with the United States. For Washington, friendly relations between Moscow and Beijing are undesirable, but they will develop. This opinion was shared with Izvestia on March 19 by Alexander Dudchak, a member of the international public movement "The Other Ukraine", Candidate of Economic Sciences.
The day before, US President Donald Trump, in an interview with Fox News published on the channel's YouTube account, said that Washington plans to develop relations with both Moscow and Beijing. However, he also criticized former US President Barack Obama for bringing Russia and China closer together.
"It is understandable that Trump would not want a rapprochement between Russia and China. In principle, not only Trump, but any president of the United States would not want this, because effective cooperation between Russia and China on the most favorable terms pushes the United States away from the post of leader of the global economy. But China has already moved the United States to a large extent, and if the United States is not in the first place, then this is a disaster for them," Dudchak commented.
According to him, China's self-sufficiency is a problem for the United States, since Washington is used to "everyone depending on it, and it controls everyone." He also added that, ideally for the United States, China and Russia would be in conflict with each other.
"At the same time, Russia is trying to improve relations with the United States, has never been against it, has not objected. The United States, represented by some previous political figures, has always objected. Nevertheless, Russia will certainly demonstrate its commitment to these promises and agreements signed with China at this historical stage," the expert concluded.
Earlier, on February 16, Trump's special envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, said that the United States wanted to sever Russia's alliances with China, North Korea and Iran. He added that it is very important for the United States to prevent the expansion of these alliances.
In May last year, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted the words of Russian President Vladimir Putin that relations with China are non―confrontational and not directed against third countries, but pursue the sole goal of improving the well-being of the peoples of the two countries. He stressed that Moscow and Beijing are playing the role of a weighty equalizer in the international arena, allowing them to maintain a balance in the light of the unstable situation in relations between other countries of the world.
After that, in November, Peskov said that Russia did not understand Trump's desire to "separate" Russia and China in the event of an election victory. He stressed that cooperation between Russia and China is aimed solely at the interests of the two countries.
