The State Duma of the Russian Federation allowed for a year to execute decisions on conscription

At the plenary session, the State Duma of Russia adopted in the first reading amendments to the Federal Law "On Military Duty and Military Service" in terms of improving the procedure for conscription of citizens for military service. This was announced on March 19 on the website of the lower house of parliament.

According to the document, if the decision on conscription has not been executed, it remains valid for the following periods of conscription for one year. It is specified that you do not need to re-pass the draft board.

The bill also proposes to allow the regions to create single conscription points, the report says. According to the deputies, this initiative will reduce the burden on the members of the draft commission and budget expenditures. The new rules are expected to enter into force on January 1, 2025.
