The new Jeland car brand will appear in Russia

A new Jeland car brand will appear in Russia, and production of Jaecoo cars with modified logos has already begun in St. Petersburg. This was reported on March 19 by the Chinese Cars portal, citing its sources.

The production of Jaecoo J7 and J8 crossovers under the Jeland brand was organized at the former site of General Motors, which was transferred to Hyundai in 2020, and Art Finance became its owner in 2022. The site has now been renamed AGM. The Jeland brand was registered in the Russian Federation in November 2024.

According to the publication, the Jeland 35T and Jeland 42T models should soon receive vehicle type approvals (OTTS), this document will allow official sales of the new brand cars to begin. Earlier, the AGM plant received an OTC for Jaecoo J7 and J8 crossovers.

Sales of Jaecoo cars began in Russia at the end of 2023. The model range includes the J7 (from 2.34 million rubles) and J8 (from 3.8 million rubles) SUVs. It is planned to launch the J5 model in 2025.

On March 13, it was reported that the Deepal brand, which is part of the Changan concern, will appear on the Russian car market. Its first model will be the S07 hybrid crossover. It is expected that sales of the new product in Russia will begin in the first half of 2025.
