The Russian national football team will play for the first time with a domestic-made ball in a friendly match with the Grenada team. This was announced on March 19 by the Russian Football Union (RFU).

The match will take place at the VTB Arena stadium in Moscow on March 19, starting at 20:00 Moscow time.

It is specified that the ball was developed by Jögel, a partner of the RFU. It is made using plastic recycling technology.

"The 11 time zones of our country are marked on the surface of the ball as a symbol that the game of football in Russia never stops," the website says.

The head coach of the Russian national team, Valery Karpin, expressed the hope that this attribute would bring good luck to the team.

On March 13, the RFU announced that Artyom Dzyuba, a forward of the Tolyatti football club Akron, joined the Russian national team for friendly matches against the teams of Grenada and Zambia. He last played for the national team in June 2021 in the European Championship match against Denmark.
