The father of the shooter in the Bryansk gymnasium was assigned correctional labor


A court in Bryansk has sentenced Dmitry Afanaskin, the father of a schoolgirl who staged a shooting at a gymnasium, to a year and eight months of correctional labor. This was reported to Izvestia on March 19 in court.
"The court sentenced the perpetrator to correctional labor for a period of 1 year and 8 months with a deduction of 15% from wages to state income," the court said.
The Telegram channel of the regional prosecutor's office reported that Afanaskin, being the owner of the Bekas-3 hunting smoothbore weapon, did not ensure its safety and security of storage at the place of residence.
The tragedy occurred on December 7, when a 14-year-old girl opened fire from her father's weapon at a Bryansk school, after which she committed suicide. As a result of the incident, five students were injured. One of the schoolgirls died. A criminal case has been opened into the murder of two or more persons (Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
Afanaskin was charged with negligent possession of firearms and causing suicide.
