- The media learned about the intention of the German Finance Ministry to provide assistance to Kiev in the amount of € 3 billion.

The German Finance Ministry has sent a request to the Bundestag Budget Committee for approval of additional military assistance to Ukraine in the amount of €3 billion. This was reported on March 19 by the Reuters news agency, citing sources.
"According to the draft document of the ministry, Finance Minister Joerg Kukis informed the Budget Committee of the Bundestag about this step," the publication says.
According to the agency, the move is seen as a breakthrough after German Chancellor Olaf Scholz had previously prevented the allocation of additional aid.
On March 17, Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto announced that Budapest did not support the allocation of a new package of military assistance to Ukraine in the amount of €20 billion. According to him, Hungary will also not agree to find a way for Ukraine to join the European Union until the rights of the Hungarian national community in Transcarpathia are restored.
