FAS recognized MTS home Internet advertising as inappropriate

The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has found MTS' home Internet advertising to be inappropriate. It contained an incorrect comparison, the service said on March 19.
"The advertisement stated that MTS' home Internet is the best in Moscow. At the same time, objective comparison criteria were not specified," the FAS explained.
According to the agency, such actions by the company may lead to unjustified advantages over competitors who offer home Internet connection services.
The service opened a case, found the MTS advertisement inappropriate and issued an order to stop the violation.
The organization faces a fine in accordance with Article 14.3 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation.
Earlier, on January 13, the FAS fined Alfa-Bank for improper advertising campaign with Yandex.Food. It was reported that the joint advertisement was distributed on the air of federal TV channels. The video contained information that was attractive to consumers about accruing 50% cashback when paying for an order in the Yandex service with any bank card.
