In the Trans-Baikal Territory, amendments were made to the law on the turnover of alcohol-containing products. The changes were approved by deputies of the regional Legislative Assembly, the correspondent of ChitaMedia news agency reported on Wednesday, March 19.

The innovations relate to the time of sale of "hot" drinks during mass events. Now local authorities will determine for themselves where and at what time to ban the sale of alcohol during the holidays. The territory may be limited by square footage from the venue, or a ban may be imposed on the entire locality.

Previously, during mass events, alcohol could not be sold at certain times only near the venue. Alcohol was freely available in the rest of the territory.

Earlier in March, it was reported that the authorities of Transbaikalia would deal with reducing the number of alcoholics in the region. For this purpose, an interdepartmental commission will be created, it will include all departments and organizations that will work in this direction.
