The Second Western District Military Court has sentenced five Ukrainian militants — Alexander Dzema, Denis Popov, Alexander Vedernikov, Alexei Pinchuk and Yevgeny Khatenko — who committed crimes in the Kursk region. According to the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation on March 19, the defendants received sentences ranging from 15 to 17 years in prison.
"They were found guilty under clauses "a" and "b" of Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Commission by a group of persons by prior agreement of a terrorist act that entailed grave consequences")," the agency's website says.

Pinchuk and Khatenko were sentenced to 16 years, Vedernikov received 17 years in prison. They will spend the first four years in prison, the rest in a high—security penal colony.
Also on March 18, the Second Western District Military Court sentenced Serhiy Popovich to 16 years in prison and Pavel Stasyuk to 15 years in prison for the terrorist attack in the Kursk region. They were found guilty under clauses "a" and "b" of Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Commission by a group of persons by prior agreement of a terrorist act that entailed grave consequences").
