A new disease of EVALI vapers was detected in a teenager in Tomsk

A new disease EVALI, which is caused by the use of verps and electronic cigarettes, was discovered by experts in a teenager from Tomsk. This was announced on March 19 by the Department of Rospotrebnadzor in the region.

It is specified that the use of smoking mixtures leads to "popcorn disease". This disease affects the bronchioles and manifests itself in the form of inflammation, scarring and narrowing of the bronchioles.

"EVALI was first diagnosed in 2019 in the USA. Today, medicine has no effective treatment for this form of bronchiolitis," the agency said in a statement on its Telegram channel.

The department noted that two cases of diseases that appeared after vaping have already been proven in Tomsk. One patient was diagnosed with EVALI, the other with the toxic effects of smoking mixtures on the central nervous system.

The points of sale of nicotine-containing products are under the control of Rospotrebnadzor, which is also fighting counterfeit goods, the report added.
