The Eurasian Association for the Support of the Russian Language is being formed in Russia, which will become a platform for its promotion. This was announced on March 19 by the Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Sergey Kravtsov.

Russian Russian Language Association is a very important step and stage of cooperation with friendly countries not only in Eurasia, but also in many countries of Latin America and Africa," he said during a round table dedicated to the creation of the Eurasian Association for the Support of the Russian Language.

Kravtsov stressed that open Russian language education centers are already operating in almost all friendly countries. Each pedagogical university is assigned to a specific country, which makes it possible to organize teacher exchange and teacher training.

In addition, the minister noted that Russia has a roadmap and a plan for working with each country. He expressed confidence that such cooperation would benefit all participants.

Kravtsov also announced the creation of a unified model of learning Russian for foreign countries.

"The model for those countries that show interest (in the Russian language — Ed.) is almost ready, we need time to generalize, systematize, I think we will do it in six months," he said.

On January 1, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to prepare a single line of school textbooks on Russian language and literature by June 1, 2026. The Ministry of Education was also instructed to include patriotic literature by modern writers in the lists of recommended works for extracurricular reading by June 1, 2025, and to consider creating a unified state line of school textbooks in the official languages of the republics of the Russian Federation by October 1.
