Sobyanin spoke about the growing number of high-tech medical operations

Last year, 126,000 high-tech surgeries were performed in Moscow hospitals. This was stated by Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.
"Today, 32 city hospitals have successfully mastered 20 profiles of high—tech medical care," he wrote on his personal blog. Among the most "in—demand" areas of medical treatment are cardiovascular surgery, traumatology and orthopedics, neurosurgery, urology and oncology.
According to Sobyanin, more than 34 thousand high-tech methods of treating vascular and heart diseases were used last year. several times (26% more than in 2019). The number of operations involving cardioverter defibrillator implantation, transcatheter implantation, prosthetics and heart valve plastic surgery has increased significantly.
In addition, in 2024, doctors performed more than 9,5 thousand neurosurgical operations. The growth in five years was 62%. Currently, specialists can perform a wide range of operations on the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves, the mayor of Moscow emphasized.
He added that last year, almost 2.2 thousand operations were performed with the help of modern robotic installations, which is 91% more than in 2023. For example, joint replacement surgeries are performed in a number of metropolitan hospitals with the help of orthopedic robots. First, special 3D models are created based on CT scans, which are used to develop the most accurate surgery plan and calculate the ideal location of the implants.
Sobyanin said that work will continue in the capital to increase the availability of military personnel.
