Last year, sales of new passenger car tires increased by 23% compared to 2023. This was announced on March 19 by Vadim Volodin, CEO of JSC Cordiant, at the company's press conference at the Gislaved plant in Ulyanovsk, the Izvestia correspondent reports.

A total of 56.4 million new passenger car tires were sold in Russia last year, the top manager said.

"We see an active expansion of Chinese brands in the Russian tire market — by the end of last year they occupied more than 70% of the market," he said.

According to Volodin, the company is currently increasing tire production at plants in Omsk, Yaroslavl, Kaluga and Ulyanovsk, including by expanding the standard sizes of its tires. This year, it is planned to launch the production of tires up to 22 inches in size. The company expects to occupy 14-15% of the new tire market in 2025.

On November 21 last year, Cordiant Holding announced that the Gislaved tire factory in Ulyanovsk (formerly Bridgestone) had resumed production, and the site was being restarted with the release of a new summer model, which will be produced under the Cordiant brand.
