- A captured fighter of the Armed Forces of Ukraine told about the instructor's advice to surrender to the Russian Armed Forces

Yuri Konograi, a captured militant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), said that an instructor in tactical medicine advised him to surrender to the Russian army. The video was distributed on March 19 by the Russian Defense Ministry.
Konograi said that after the medical examination, he was immediately sent to the regional military enlistment office, and then sent to the Guards for training.
"There was a teacher in tactical medicine. And he explained it to us simply. He says: guys, if you get caught, it's better to surrender right away, it's fine to be captured. Not all Russians, he says, are bad guys," said Konogray.
When Russian troops approached them, Konograi told his colleagues that he was not going to shoot and was ready to surrender.
"We got out early in the morning. We've already heard that the Russians are approaching us. And I'm talking to the kid: look, I'm not going to shoot. To surrender, well, I'm ready. And we didn't fire a single shot, we just waited until the Russians came up to us. They called us and said that, for example, we were giving up. By the way, they reacted very normally to this," said the prisoner of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Konogray also mentioned that six months ago they tried to mobilize him, but he managed to negotiate for 2.5 thousand rubles to avoid being sent to the front. Later, he was detained by employees of the territorial recruitment center, taken to another recruitment center and sent to the Kursk region.
According to him, relations with the command at the position were difficult due to the inappropriate behavior of senior officers. He could not escape from there, as this could lead to being sent to the Skala battalion, which "sends people to slaughter."
On March 14, Mikhail Belov, a captured soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said that the mortars of the Ukrainian army were shelling the positions of their own comrades. In addition, he said that the Ukrainian command had threatened his unit with reprisals if it surrendered to Russian troops. One of his comrades with the call sign Beaver tried to escape and was shot by his own men.
