The bodies of an eight-year-old boy and a seven-year-old girl were found in a pond in Shcherbinka. This was announced on March 19 by the press service of the Moscow City Prosecutor's Office.

It is noted that the bodies were found on the evening of March 18. No signs of violent death were found.

"The prosecutor's office of the Troitsk and Novomoskovsky administrative districts took control of the establishment of all the circumstances, as well as the course and results of the procedural check conducted on this fact," the department said in a Telegram channel.

According to preliminary data, the children went out onto the ice of the reservoir, after which they fell through it. As a result, they were unable to swim out on their own and they drowned.

The Moscow Prosecutor's Office reminded of the need to inform children about safety measures. They also noted that it is necessary to talk about the dangers of ice.

Earlier, on March 17, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Tatarstan reported the drowning of two fishermen. According to them, the men fell through the ice.
