More than 270 people were evacuated in Asha, Chelyabinsk region, after flooding of houses

In the city of Asha, located in the Chelyabinsk region, 275 people were evacuated due to new flooding of residential buildings and land plots. This was announced on March 19 in the Main Directorate (GU) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the region.

According to the ministry, flooding affected new areas, including the streets of Nelyubin, Ufimskaya, Kirov, 22nd Party Congress, Ozimin, Tolstoy and Sovetskaya.

"Assistance was provided in the evacuation of 275 citizens, including 68 children," RIA Novosti quoted the agency as saying.

It is specified that 10 people are staying at the hotel, and the rest are staying with relatives. Experts also conducted house-to-house visits to assess the situation.

At the moment, 95 private residential buildings, 173 suburban buildings and 329 household plots remain in the flood zone in Asha.

On March 18, the head of the municipal district of the city, Vadim Sergeev, reported that the water level on the Sim River had risen sharply in Asha, as a result of which a local emergency (emergency) regime was introduced.

On March 12, the Governor of the Tyumen Region, Alexander Moore, told about the unfavorable forecast from the specialists of the Center for hydrometeorology on flooding in the Ishim River. According to weather forecasters, the water level on the river is expected to be above the long-term average. They claim that from mid-April, the indicators will exceed the mark of a dangerous phenomenon in the settlements of Kazansky.
