A 15-year-old girl was abducted for ransom in Achinsk, Krasnoyarsk Territory, and a criminal case has been opened. This was announced on Wednesday, March 19, by the Department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation for the region.
According to the department, the teenager left on the evening of March 18 in an unknown direction. Two hours later, a video message from her daughter arrived on the phone of the head of the family from an unknown number, in which she asks to transfer an amount of 500 thousand rubles to the specified bank account for her release.
The investigation opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under paragraph "d" of Part 2 of Article 126 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Kidnapping of a person in relation to a known minor").
"Currently, within the framework of the criminal case <...>, all possible measures are being taken to establish the whereabouts of the missing person and all the circumstances of her disappearance," the Office of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Krasnoyarsk Territory said in a Telegram post.
Earlier, on March 9, Interior Ministry spokeswoman Irina Volk announced the arrest of two men who abducted a teenager for extortion in St. Petersburg. The incident occurred on the evening of March 6. An 18-year-old from St. Petersburg and a 29-year-old resident of the Komi Republic beat and put a 16-year-old teenager in a car. They demanded 300,000 rubles for his release, threatening violence.
