Northern Europe demanded "effective solutions" from the EU on Ukraine

The Nordic countries intend to accelerate the process of Ukraine's potential accession to the European Union (EU). This was reported by the Politico newspaper on March 18, citing a joint letter from the six countries.
"Confirming our full and unequivocal commitment to the prospect of Ukraine's membership in the EU, we urge to accelerate the accession process. The time has come for ambitious and effective solutions in this regard," the publication quotes an excerpt from the document.
It is reported that in this letter, the leading diplomats of Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia called on the EU leadership in Brussels to provide "concrete proposals on how to decisively advance the process of Ukraine's accession [to the European Union]."
"Although European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has publicly suggested that Ukraine could join the bloc by 2030, the signatory countries now want to take measures to make this happen," Politico notes.
Earlier, on March 17, the EU Council approved €3.5 billion in financial assistance to Ukraine. It is indicated that Kiev has satisfied all the necessary conditions for the next tranche, including reforms to increase renewable energy production, simplify border crossing procedures and develop an agricultural development strategy.
