US President Donald Trump has no principled position on the victory of liberal or conservative forces in Canada. This was reported on March 18 by the Reuters news agency.

"I don't care. I think it's actually easier to deal with a liberal, and maybe he'll win, but I don't care. It doesn't matter to me at all," Trump said on Fox News.

After this statement, he attacked the leader of the Conservative Party of Canada, Pierre Pouillevre, saying that he was "not his friend."

On March 18, the Canadian Prime Minister called on Trump for respect before the start of bilateral talks. It is reported that the statement was the harshest statement against Trump since the beginning of Prime Minister Mark Carney's political career. Earlier, on March 14, Canada discussed with the EU retaliatory measures to increase US duties.
