A criminal case has been opened in the Voronezh Region on the fact of an attack by an unattended dog on a child. This was reported on March 18 by the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation.

"It is reported in the media space that in Voronezh an unattended dog attacked a minor on the territory of a playground. The girl needed medical attention," follows from the publication of the department in Telegram.

It is clarified that a criminal case was opened into the incident on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet the requirements for the safety of life or health of consumers").

Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin instructed to report on the progress of the investigation of the criminal case, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported.

Earlier, on March 16, Vladimir Burmatov, first deputy chairman of the Committee on Ecology, Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, told Izvestia that fines for dog walking would be increased to 50 thousand rubles. Currently, the fine for individuals ranges from 1.5 to 3 thousand rubles, for legal entities — from 15 to 30 thousand rubles.
