At the trial in Argentina in the case of the death of football player Diego Maradona, the police, who were the first to arrive at his house, said they were surprised by the condition of the body and the conditions of the last days of his life. This was announced on Tuesday, March 18, by the TN TV channel.

"Policeman Lucas Farias, who was the first to see Diego Maradona dead, remembered that when he entered the room, he saw a huge figure <...> His stomach was very swollen, a little more and he would have exploded," the TV channel said.

Other witnesses also pointed to the unnatural state of the body.

Diego Maradona died on November 25, 2020 at the age of 60. The cause of death was acute heart failure, which led to pulmonary edema. The Argentine prosecutor's office has launched an investigation into alleged negligence on the part of the ex-footballer's doctors.
