Some chemical components in the cream can help effectively cope with the appearance of acne. Vladislav Sepp, Associate Professor of the Department of Pharmacy at the Institute of Pharmacy and Medicinal Chemistry at Pirogov University, told Gazeta on March 19.Ru».

"Benzoyl peroxide is an active antibacterial agent. This is primarily the reason for its use. By itself, benzoyl peroxide in small concentrations does not pose a particular danger when applied to the skin. The only exceptions are cases of individual hypersensitivity to this substance," he said.

At the same time, the expert warned against excessive use of this component. Excessive use of benzoyl peroxide can lead to irritation and dryness of the skin, so you should pay special attention to the correctness of its dosages.

"Salicylic acid penetrates the pores and cleanses them of fat and dead skin cells. It is usually less irritating to the skin than benzoyl peroxide. Azelaic acid has antibacterial and anti—inflammatory properties, and also helps to even out skin tone," the specialist said.

Tea tree oil can also be mentioned as a natural component with an antibacterial effect. Because of its properties, it is often used in skin care products.

On March 11, doctor Mikhailova spoke about the causes and ways to prevent age spots in the spring. She advised people with a tendency to hyperpigmentation to apply a cream with SPF 50+ at any time of the year, as even in winter, ultraviolet light reflected from snow can exacerbate the problem. In the spring, the specialist recommended using cosmetics with skin-lightening ingredients. Retinoic peels, for example, do a good job of this.
