Von der Leyen urged Europe to prepare for a new world order now

By 2030, a new world order will be formed, and Europe should prepare for it now, strengthening its security. This was announced on March 18 by the head of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen, speaking at the Royal Danish Military Academy.
"By 2030, Europe must have a strong European defense position. "Readiness 2030" means rearmament and development of capabilities for reliable deterrence. "Readiness 2030" means the presence of a military-industrial base, which is a strategic advantage. But in order to be "ready for 2030," we need to move now," she is quoted as saying on the EC's official website.
Von der Leyen said that on March 19 she will present a roadmap for the Readiness 2030 strategy, which involves rearmament and "capacity development to ensure reliable deterrence."
She named four main priorities of this strategy. The first, she said, is an increase in defense spending. The second point is that investments in the defense industry should be pan—European, since the costs of eliminating gaps in priority areas go beyond the budgets of individual member states. The third priority is to increase support for Ukraine and its accession to the EU. And the fourth is to strengthen Europe's defense industrial base and support defense manufacturers within the bloc.
On March 11, during the plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, von der Leyen stated that the defense industry of the European Union (EU) is significantly lagging behind the Russian one, therefore it is necessary to accelerate militarization. According to her, Russia spends more on military spending than the whole of Europe, where there is low production. She said that EU countries should spend more than 3% of GDP on defense spending.
