The crew of Crew-9 with cosmonaut Gorbunov landed off the coast of Florida

The Crew Dragon Freedom spacecraft carrying Russian Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexander Gorbunov has successfully landed off the coast of Florida. This is evidenced by the NASA broadcast on March 19.

The crew of the Crew-9 mission landed at 00.57 Moscow time. In addition to Gorbunov, astronauts Nick Hay, Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore returned to Earth.

The day before, the Crew Dragon manned spacecraft with cosmonaut Gorbunov departed from the ISS. It was reported that two NASA astronauts, Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore, who have been aboard the ISS since last summer, will return to Earth.

Williams and Wilmore arrived at the ISS on June 6 last year. It was planned that the astronauts would evaluate the capabilities of the Starline capsule and return home in no more than 10 days, however, due to a number of technical problems and concerns, they remained on board the space station instead of other astronauts.

Later, on March 17, 2025, American entrepreneur Elon Musk reacted to a video message from two astronauts. On that day, he posted on his social network page X (ex. Twitter) a video with their participation, adding emojis in the form of hearts and rockets.
