- The Russian Embassy in Sweden told about the increase in Stockholm's support for Ukraine
Sweden not only openly declares its readiness to provide multifaceted assistance to Ukraine "as much as necessary," but also intends to increase it in every possible way, often even to the detriment of its economic interests, the Russian Embassy in Stockholm told Izvestia.
"Moreover, the Swedish government has approved a three-year plan for military assistance to Kiev in the amount of $7.5 billion for 2024-2026. According to the latest data, the total amount of assistance provided by Stockholm to the Kiev regime after the start of its operation is $7.32 billion, of which military assistance is $6.19 billion," the diplomatic mission told Izvestia.
There are no signs of a change in Stockholm's position regarding the conflict in Ukraine against the background of the initiatives of the administration of US President Donald Trump to resume dialogue with Russia.
"Sweden's confrontational course towards our country remains the same. They still adhere to the line of "peace through force" agreed upon by the EU and Brussels and, it seems, are not ready to seriously consider options for resolving the conflict through political and diplomatic means," the Russian diplomatic mission told Izvestia.
Judging by the statements of officials and announcements about the next packages of military and civilian assistance, Sweden does not intend to rest on its laurels, continuing, together with other Western countries, to pump the Kiev regime with weapons and ammunition. Thus, Sweden expects to provide Ukraine with more advantageous positions in future peace negotiations, the Russian Embassy concluded.
Earlier, the Swedish authorities approved another package of military assistance to Ukraine, which included 18 Archer artillery installations and five Arthur counter-battery radar installations.
