Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic called the talks between US President Donald Trump and Russian Leader Vladimir Putin on Tuesday, March 18, a sign of a detente in the world, but questioned the quick and easy achievement of peace in Ukraine.

"Of course, the situation is moving towards detente, and this is great news. Do I believe that peace can be achieved quickly and easily? No, I don't think so," Vucic said on the Pink TV channel.

He also congratulated Trump on achieving this "huge step."

A telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and American leader Donald Trump took place earlier in the day. During the talks, the parties exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine, and also discussed a wide range of areas in which the United States and Russia could establish cooperation.

In addition, Putin supported Trump's idea of a mutual refusal of the Russian Federation and Ukraine from strikes on energy infrastructure for 30 days and immediately gave the Russian military the appropriate command.
