The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the Russian Federation, Maria Zakharova, on Tuesday, March 18, responded to statements by representatives of the European Union (EU) about "the ball on Russia's side."

"The European Union was talking about the fact that "the ball is on Moscow's side." As it turned out, it was a hockey puck. And she's in the game," she wrote on her Telegram channel.

Thus, Zakharova commented on the agreement between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Donald Trump to organize hockey matches between players from the United States and Russia.

The phone conversation between Putin and Trump took place earlier in the day. During the talks, the parties exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine, and also discussed a wide range of areas in which the United States and Russia could establish cooperation.

During the conversation, the Russian leader proposed to the President of the United States to hold hockey matches between Russian and American players. Trump supported the idea.
