- Former Austrian Foreign Minister Kneissl announced the desire of the United States to return taxpayers' money

It is important for US President Donald Trump to bring taxpayers' money home. On March 18, former Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl commented on a telephone conversation between the Russian and American leaders.
According to her, despite Trump's desire to resolve the Ukrainian conflict, he faces higher priorities.
"The next (congressional) elections are just around the corner. He wants to achieve tangible results. In this case, it's not about bringing our boys home, but about bringing home the money from taxes," Kneissl wrote on her Telegram channel.
According to her, thanks to genuine bilateral diplomacy, everything is now returning to its former course, as both Russians and Americans "have the intention to work on finding solutions" and they "by their nature like to get their own way."
"Today, at my lecture in Yekaterinburg, students asked if Europe plays any role. It was a simple answer: no," Kneissl said, stressing that Europe would not be able to influence the settlement of the conflict.
A telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and American leader Donald Trump took place earlier in the day. During the talks, the sides exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine and discussed a wide range of areas in which the United States and Russia could cooperate.
In addition, Putin supported Trump's idea of a mutual refusal of the Russian Federation and Ukraine from strikes on energy infrastructure for 30 days and immediately gave the Russian military the appropriate command.
