In the United States, they plan to reduce from 50 thousand to 60 thousand jobs in the Ministry of Defense of the country. This was reported on March 18 by the Associated Press (AP).

"About 50-60 thousand civilian jobs will be cut in the Ministry of Defense, but less than 21 thousand employees who have applied for voluntary dismissal will leave in the coming months," the agency's source said.

According to the plan, the Pentagon currently intends to reduce 6,000 positions per month. The initiative is part of a broader campaign by the Department of Public Administration Efficiency (DOGE), run by billionaire Elon Musk, to reduce government spending.

"The department uses three ways to reduce its workforce: voluntary resignations, layoffs of probation employees, and job cuts due to planned staff departures," AP said.

Earlier, on March 15, US President Donald Trump signed a decree reducing the functions of the global media agency. Also, on March 13, Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth ordered the disbandment of the Office of Network Assessment (ONA), created in 1973 by order of former American leader Richard Nixon.
