Tarasova called a possible match between KHL and NHL players a great idea.
Honored Coach of the USSR Tatiana Tarasova positively assessed the possibility of a match between the players of the Russian Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) and the American National Hockey League (NHL). She made the corresponding statement during a conversation with the newspaper "Sport-Express".
The possibility of holding such a match became known on March 18 following a telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US Leader Donald Trump. It is reported that the American president positively assessed the idea of his Russian counterpart to hold a joint game between athletes of the two leagues.
"This is a great idea and a step forward! It's great that Putin and Trump communicate with each other. I hope that we will have good relations with America. It's great that our guys will play," said the coach.
During the telephone talks, the parties exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine, and also discussed a wide range of areas in which the United States and Russia could establish cooperation. In addition, Putin supported Trump's idea of a mutual refusal of the Russian Federation and Ukraine from strikes on energy infrastructure for 30 days and immediately gave the Russian military the appropriate command.
