The United Nations (UN) appreciates maintaining contacts between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart Donald Trump. This was announced on March 18 by the Deputy official representative of the Secretary General of the world organization, Farhan Haq.

"I think the important point in this conversation is that it took place. It is important for the leadership of the United States and the Russian Federation to keep in touch with each other, and we appreciate this," he said at a briefing, answering a question from RIA Novosti.
