The State Duma introduces mandatory labeling of calls on mobile phone screens

Phone calls from organizations will have to be marked on mobile phone screens. This follows from the draft law on combating telephone and cyber fraud, which was adopted on March 18 by the State Duma in the first reading.
"Mandatory labeling of calls from organizations and calls from international numbers is being introduced," the website of the lower house of parliament says.
It is specified that legal entities will have to inform the subscriber about themselves before the call. Companies are also required to provide the telecom operator with all information about calls, including mass calls.
In addition, operators will have to notify the subscriber about an overseas call. This information will be displayed on the subscriber's device. It is noted that the bill proposes the creation of an anti-fraud platform with a base of votes of fraudsters who use the trust of citizens for selfish purposes.
Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said on February 13 that the Russian government was introducing mandatory call identification as part of legislative amendments to protect citizens from telephone and Internet scams. The Prime Minister noted that a comprehensive package of measures has been prepared, the implementation of which is planned for the near future.
