The telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and American leader Donald Trump ended, it lasted more than an hour and a half. This was reported on March 18 by Sky News with reference to the White House.

This conversation was the second direct contact between Trump and Putin since the beginning of the new term of the American leader. The first one took place on February 12th. Trump, in turn, shared that he agrees with Putin that Washington and Moscow will be able to greatly benefit from working together.

Contacts between the delegations of the Russian Federation and the United States are also developing. In particular, representatives of the countries met in Riyadh on February 18. Later, on February 27, the delegations held talks in Istanbul.

On March 16, the American leader's special envoy for the Middle East, Stephen Witkoff, said that great progress had been made in discussing the Ukrainian conflict at a meeting with Putin in Moscow.
