- Sergunina noted the interest of foreign partners in the projects of Moscow publishers

Last year, Moscow publishers signed over 50 international contracts for the sale of children's books by contemporary Russian authors. This was stated by Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina, noting that industry players have found new partners abroad thanks to their participation in capital projects and business missions organized by the city.
"In the next two years, books by Moscow publishers will be published in India, Brazil, Indonesia, Egypt and six other friendly countries," Sergunina said. — The total circulation will be almost 300 thousand copies. These are fairy tales, children's detective stories, collections of poems and short stories, comics and educational literature for teenagers."
For example, graphic novels will appear in bookstores in Chile, Argentina and Mexico. Residents of Latin American countries will also be able to read about the adventures of the fourteen-year-old heroine of the novel "Arabella" and get acquainted with stories about unusual animals. In total, about 20 thousand copies of books from Moscow publishers will be printed in the region. Four dozen publications with a total circulation of 185 thousand copies will be presented in China. Among them are the educational series "Skills of the Future" and the cycle "Fairy Tales based on great artists", created using paintings by Russian masters.
Detective stories and science fiction will be released in Egypt, and work in the fantasy genre will be released in India and Serbia.
As Sergunina recalled, Moscow provides publishers with a number of tools to promote their products. In particular, companies receive invitations to participate in international exhibitions in Russia and friendly countries. More than 50 publishers and almost 40 illustrators used this option last year.
