The correspondent reported on Trump's order to review the US sanctions policy.

US President Donald Trump has ordered a review of the country's sanctions policy. This was announced on March 18 by US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant.
"Trump instructed me to review the sanctions regime. For a long period of time, we had what I call "lazy sanctions," he said in an interview with Fox Business TV channel, which was posted on the YouTube channel.
Bessent added that many are abandoning the dollar, so the United States is going to switch to the maximum effective sanctions regime.
According to him, the restrictions of the previous US administration against Russia were ineffective, since former President Joe Biden was afraid of rising energy prices.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on March 13 that Russia had adapted perfectly to the sanctions. He also recalled that the measures imposed are illegal and must be lifted.
On March 10, Bloomberg reported that Trump's advisers were working on measures to ease anti-Russian sanctions. It is noted that this will affect, among other things, restrictions on oil prices.
