The volume of the travel agent market will reach 1.4 trillion rubles by 2030.

The share of bookings of tourist accommodation through online travel services will reach 60% by 2030, in monetary terms it will amount to about 1.4 trillion rubles. This was announced by Yulia Skoromolova, Director of the Association of Travel Aggregators (ATAG), during a session of travel agents at the MITT International Tourism Exhibition on March 18.
Currently, the share of bookings for tourist accommodation through aggregators is 50%, or 440 billion rubles, she noted, citing a study by the Center for Strategic Research.
In turn, Avito Travel clarified during the session that the increase in the number of users among aggregators is directly related to the growing supply of tourist accommodation in Russia. So, in 2024, the volume of this market amounted to almost 930 billion rubles, of which 495 billion accounted for hotels and 434 billion for private housing. This is 20% more than a year earlier. Already in 2025, the volume of the tourist housing market in the country will exceed 1 billion rubles, experts predict.
Along with the increase in the offer of accommodation, the geography of travel will expand, and tourist flows will be distributed between regions, the Tutu travel service added.
"The lack of accommodation facilities continues to be a barrier to the development of tourism in the regions. The main locations are overloaded, people will be looking for new places. In addition, there is a trend towards relatively new types of tourism — gastro, industrial and event tourism," said Igor Sivets, a member of the Board of directors of the Tutu travel service.
Dmitry Abornev, Managing director of Otello, agreed with him, adding that regional tourism is growing thanks to the efforts of hoteliers and government agencies.
"In addition, solo trips have become popular. Tourists are already joining tour groups on the spot," said Fyodor Tarasyuk, commercial director of the Travel from T—Bank service.
At the same time, aggregators will continue to fight for tourists and offer better and better services, both from a technical point of view and improved loyalty programs, Ostrovka emphasized. Additional services will also be developed, for example, travel guides that help tourists organize leisure activities during their travels, Aviasales added.
Earlier, on February 23, experts from the OneTwoTrip travel planning service told Izvestia about popular spring destinations. According to their information, Russians are more likely to choose Sochi, Lake Ladoga and Dagestan for recreation. Experts singled out Egypt, Japan and Turkey among the foreign destinations.
