The auto expert named the rules for running in a new car
During the first thousand kilometers of the run, it is important to follow a number of rules that will improve the performance, efficiency and service life of the new car. Konstantin Ershov, a regional technologist of the international network of Fit Service car services, told about this on March 18.
"The most important thing is to choose a gentle mode of operation of the main units (engine, gearbox). During the "running—in" period, all the rubbing parts are rubbed, so do not overload the car, do not arrange extreme tests and demonstration runs," the Rossiyskaya Gazeta quotes Yershov.
In the first months of car ownership, the condition and levels of all technical fluids should be checked especially carefully and regularly. During running-in, it is important not to allow the engine to operate at high speeds, and prolonged idling is also harmful to the engine. While driving, it is important to smoothly change the engine speed without sudden acceleration and emergency braking.
After running-in, it is recommended to replace the oil in the engine, since micro-chips appear due to lapping of metal parts, which negatively affects the operation of the engine and shortens its service life, the specialist added.
On the eve of the car expert Vadim Strelbitsky said that after the winter, when the car was exposed to low temperatures, humidity and reagents, it is necessary to carry out the procedure of "roasting" the engine. The process of "roasting" an engine is a long—term intensive movement of the car at high speeds, which makes it possible to clean the engine of accumulated dirt and deposits, the auto expert explained.
On March 11, auto expert Alexander Sosnovsky said that installing a fake or low-quality oil filter in a car could lead to contamination and increased wear of the internal combustion engine.
