The court extended the arrest of former Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov until April 23. This was reported to Izvestia on March 18 in court.

It is noted that thus the total period of his stay in the pre-trial detention center in the case of bribes has been increased to a year.

Ivanov's detention became known on April 23, 2024. He was arrested the next day. Ivanov is charged with accepting a bribe in the amount of 1,185 billion rubles. According to investigators, he entered into a criminal conspiracy with the heads of contractors working at the facilities of the Ministry of Defense, and concluded contracts with them in return for illegal personal remuneration. On June 20, Ivanov was removed from office.

The prosecutor's office approved the final charge in the criminal case against the former deputy defense minister and his former subordinate, accused of embezzlement and money laundering, on January 20.
