Ukrainian media reported on the "purchase" of a child by a resident of Lviv for the sake of postponing her son

A resident of Lviv "bought" a third child for her son so that he would receive a deferral from military service. This was reported on March 18 by the newspaper "Country.ua" with reference to the Ukrainian prosecutor's office.

It was established that the woman sought help from a friend who works as a midwife in Kharkiv. She found a pregnant woman who, for a monetary reward, offered to add her friend's son to the birth certificate.

"The Lviv woman handed over $400 for this and promised to send money monthly until the child reaches the age of three," the publication's Telegram channel says.

The woman was detained after arriving in Kharkiv for paperwork, and she was placed under arrest without bail. The doctor was also detained.
