Members of the European Parliament (EP) complained about the lack of Eastern European dishes in the dining room. This was reported by Politico on March 18.

It is noted that he, one of the deputies' assistants from Slovakia, sent a letter to more than 2,000 of his colleagues complaining about the lack of Eastern European cuisine in the parliamentary canteens. This makes people feel that their countries are "second-class passengers in the EU," the report says.

"Thank you for raising this wonderfully important issue," the Czech parliamentarian's aide agreed.

Politico added that populists may present this as "culinary Western imperialism" to boost anti-European sentiment.

Earlier, on February 5, the EP announced a split on the issue of further assistance to Kiev. According to French MEP Thierry Mariani, opinions are divided between those who believe that Europe should take Ukraine's aid into its own hands instead of the United States, and those who recognize that it is necessary to stop the conflict.
