GAC company has started searching for a site for car production in Russia

The Chinese company GAC intends to launch the production of cars in Russia. Pavel Nikiforov, Head of Sales Development at GAC Motor Russia, told the Izvestia correspondent about this.

"GAC is negotiating with a number of local manufacturers and is currently discussing the site. I can't tell you the timing, but the Russian market is a priority for GAC, and last year it became the leader in sales among markets outside China. All resources, interests and priorities are aligned in favor of the Russian market," Nikiforov said.

When asked which models could be the first to enter the assembly line, the top manager replied that "there are requests from sales and plans from the head office," and called the GS4 model the most interesting in terms of volume and positioning. This crossover is represented in a large segment in which the Toyota RAV4 model used to be — many draw a parallel between it and GS4, he noted.

The day before, GAC introduced the GS4 crossover in Russia. The price of the new product starts from 3 million rubles. In 2025, the Chinese manufacturer is also going to bring three electrified models to the Russian market, details about them have not yet been disclosed.
