- The Russian Foreign Ministry expressed regret over Israel's resumption of military operations in Gaza.

Moscow deeply regrets the resumption of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) military operation in the Gaza Strip. This was announced on March 18 on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
"Experience shows that it is impossible to resolve the issue of hostage release by force. Russia strongly condemns any actions that lead to the death of civilians and the destruction of social infrastructure," the publication says.
Russia has called on both the Israeli and Palestinian sides to return to negotiations. According to the diplomatic mission, this could contribute to the sustainable normalization of the situation in the Gaza Strip and begin the full-scale reconstruction of the Palestinian enclave.
On March 18, the IDF announced the resumption of military operations against the Palestinian radical movement Hamas in Gaza. As a result of the Israeli airstrikes, more than 1,000 people were injured, and the death toll increased to 310. The media also said that Israel had warned the administration of US President Donald Trump in advance about the resumption of attacks on Gaza.
