The CBD revealed scams with child payments in the amount of more than 101 million rubles

The investigation of the criminal case against 13 people from the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) and a resident of North Ossetia, who are accused of embezzling payments for children aged 8 to 17 years in excess of 101 million rubles, has been completed. This was announced on March 18 by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic.

According to the investigation, the fraud consisted in circumventing one of the conditions for assigning benefits, namely— the employment of parents. The attackers, wanting to take advantage of social support, forged documents about their work, after which funds began to flow into their accounts.

"The total amount of damage caused to the state for the period from July 2022 to October 2023 exceeded 101 million rubles," the agency's website says.

In addition, the investigators revealed an attempt by a resident of the CBD to illegally receive a monthly allowance in excess of 560 thousand rubles. She registered in Naryan-Mar, Arkhangelsk region, to receive an increased child benefit.

The materials of the criminal case were sent to the prosecutor's office.

On January 6, the police established two new facts of theft with the help of false birth certificates. Thus, budget money was fraudulently received in 59 regions of Russia. According to the results of the operational search measures and investigative actions, 708 facts of registration in the registry offices of children allegedly born outside medical institutions were revealed, for each of which 631 women received social benefits or maternity capital in 59 regions of the Russian Federation. According to these facts, 229 criminal cases were initiated in 52 regions, 217 persons were brought to criminal responsibility.
