Stand-up comedian Ostanin was detained while trying to leave Russia

Stand-up comedian Artemy Ostanin was detained while trying to leave Russia. This was announced on March 18 by the Investigative Committee of Russia (IC RF).

It is clarified that Ostanin is suspected of committing a crime under paragraph "a" of Part 2 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Incitement of hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity").

"According to the investigation, no later than March 15, 2025, during a public appearance in Moscow, the suspect made hostile comments about people who were injured and disabled," the department's Telegram channel says.

At the moment, the comedian has been taken to Moscow. The investigation of the criminal case is ongoing.

On May 14, 2024, a blogger was detained in Moscow for insulting and threatening participants in a special military operation (SVO) during a stream. A criminal case was opened against him, the streamer was charged, he admitted his guilt and repented of what he had done. The man was later taken into custody.
