On March 20, Olesya Mayerova, head of the educational department of the Unified State Exam Center school, told Izvestia about how to choose subjects in order to achieve the desired professional goals.

"Almost a third of graduates change their exam plans every year immediately before applying to universities. The reasons for this are the lack of an early strategy and a lack of understanding of their professional goals. The price of such a mistake is wasted time, financial costs and emotional burnout," she said.

The expert also advised not to choose subjects based solely on their popularity and "fashion" for certain specialties. According to her, consultations with experts and labor market analysis help to understand which activities will be interesting and relevant. Based on this, you can select the necessary subjects for the Unified State Exam.

"The student's task is to focus on those subjects that will become the "tickets" to the chosen specialty. The sooner you do this, the more likely you are to master the program at a high level. Regular thematic classes and practice in solving tests form stable knowledge," said Maerova.
