In the Akhtyn district of Dagestan, the area through which the fire of a natural fire passed was 22 hectares. This was reported on March 18 in the press service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.

It is specified that active gorenje occurs on the territory of 5 hectares.

"More than 150 employees and 14 pieces of equipment are working on site. A Mi-8 helicopter of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations with a spillway device was also involved in extinguishing," the department's Telegram channel reported.

Employees of the Ministry on the spot use satchel fire extinguishers to extinguish the fire. They are also clearing the area, excavating for mineralized strips.

The fire occurred on March 15 on the slope of a mountain located 2 km from the village of Khryug. The elimination of fire is complicated due to the specifics of the area and the lack of access to specialized equipment.

Izvestia correspondent Murad Magomedov, citing regional authorities, reported on March 17 that the landscape fire could have been caused by human error. A local resident was tidying up her backyard and set fire to dry grass near the mountainside. As a result, the fire spread further across the area.
