Last night in Moscow was the coldest since the beginning of the calendar spring. This was announced on March 18 by Mikhail Leus, a leading specialist at the Phobos weather center, in his Telegram channel.

"In conditions of low—cloud and quiet, anticyclonal weather, active night radiation cooling was added to the intake of cold air, and according to the megapolis base weather station, VDNKh, by 6:00 a.m. the minimum air temperature dropped to -7.3 degrees," the report says.

Leus clarified that the temperature in the center of Moscow was -3.5 degrees, and on the outskirts of the city the thermometers showed -10.9. It was even colder in New Moscow -13.5 degrees. The forecaster noted that this was the lowest indicator in the metropolitan region.

He also added that the air temperature will rise above zero during the day, and the next night will be less cold.

On the same day, forecasters predicted clouds and sleet in Moscow. The air temperature in the capital will range from +2 to 0 degrees during the day. At night, the thermometer will drop to -6. Westerly and southwesterly winds with a speed of 5-10 m/s are expected. The atmospheric pressure will be 748-749 mmHg.
